We are pleased to welcome you to our web-site and very much hope that the pages within will provide you with further knowledge and understanding about our Society's promotion of the life and work of Dylan Marlais Thomas.

The Executive Committee of the Society is based in the City of Swansea, Dylan Thomas' home town, and its enthusiastic volunteers meet regularly to organize and produce as varied an annual programme as possible, details of which may be found in our Programme of events for 2010, presently being prepared. The history of the Society will reflect the considerable commitment shown by its members and guest speakers over the years. We continue to encourage both young and older members to support the Society in passive and active capacities and our programme surely reflects that.

We are conscious of the thriving Dylan Thomas Societies in Australia and Vancouver and wish to develop our relationship with them and, to increasingly promote an international link with our many members in different parts of the world.

The Society's Travelling Players, a company of Swansea amateur and professional performers, have already been generously welcomed by the Vancouver Dylan Thomas Circle after successful performances of "Under Milk Wood - a play for voices" in New York, Harvard and Youngston in the U.S.A., together with performances in Canada.

The City of Swansea has an excellent Dylan Thomas Centre which houses a permanent exhibition on the life and work of Dylan Thomas and an increasingly vibrant autumn Festival. We also enjoy a pleasing relationship with The Dylan Thomas Theatre, home of The Swansea Little Theatre of which Dylan was a member.

We look forward to hearing from visitors to our website. Regular information will be placed here and also sent to those who become members and patrons. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require further information.
